    The shot the stop motion then projected it on a sheet of glass, then on the other side of the glass they filmed the actors acting scared, anyways thats how they did some of the shots.

    In more modern movies where minatures are used its the cameras lens and the frame speed. The motion is slowed down to bring it to a normal looking speed.
